Adaptive Sportsmen's Events for 2008

August 16th Muskego Archery and Gun Tournament and Picnic We are having a picnic at Schultz's Gun Club in Muskego on Saturday Aug. 16, which will also feature a 3-D Archery shoot and a Trap (shotgun) shoot. Come on out for trap shooting and 3D archery, or both! The event is free, but you must be a current ASI member or you can join ASI the day of the event to participate. Food will be sold, silent auction items and raffles will be there to win. Membership is only $10.  We will have some ASI equipment there for people to use or try out, including gun rests, crossbows, and laser sites. Bring your bow or gun and join us for a great event. Rescheduled to Sept 14th Due to high water, Madison Fishery Lake Mendota and Lake Minona in September is a wonderful chance to fish the Madison area and enjoy the company of our members. We have pontoon boats, helpers, soda, and food for everyone. Contact John Martinson at 608-628-2633 or email to sign up to fish or volunteer to help.

Oct 2nd - 5th Baraboo Dow Deer Hunt  Our annual Archery Deer hunt at the Badger Army Ammo Plant with free lodging at Camp Gray. We supply hearty meals each day with plenty of chances to trade stories with old and new friends. Come out and enjoy a great hunt and a chance to see some large deer. Oct 10-12th and 17-19th Clintonville Bow Deer Hunt  Come up to Clintonville on either weekend for a nice hunt for deer hunt and the company of some interesting hunting partners. Click here for an application, or call Larry Drake at 715-535-2697 for more information. 

Oct 25th Smith's Pheasant Crest Pheasant Hunt The Pheasants are flying in Oxford every year for this neat hunt. Wayne Smith and his wife Robin have a great crew of helpers and dogs to make the hunting fast and furious. Call John Martinson at 608-846-4518 for more information.

Challenge the Outdoors, has many events for physically challenged outdoorsmen.

Pontoon Boat on Shawno Lake is available from May-October for day or evening fishing outings.

The “Wheelin Sportsman” program of the National Wild Turkey Federation has offered 300 free memberships to physically challenged individuals of Wisconsin on a first come first served basis. This is a national organization that is one of the leaders in the field of promoting hunting opportunities and associated products for physically challenged people. They publish a very nice magazine and we are very happy to see that they are interested in having a greater presence in Wisconsin. To join send your name and address indicating your interest in one of the 300 memberships to:

The Beaver Dam Conservation Club has built a wheelchair accessible blind on their club grounds for physically challenged hunters that want an opportunity at waterfowl. Call Rob Monet (920) 885-5860 for reservation information. Keep them in mind for next year too.
